Refunds and Exchange Policy

Thank you for choosing The Doodle Baker! We strive to provide beautiful, delicious custom treats for your special events. Please review our policy regarding refunds and returns:

1. Custom designs and artistic interpretation
Custom cookies are made from the agreed written order specifications. Reference photos, invitations, and inspiration images guide the design but are not promises of identical reproduction unless a particular detail is expressly agreed in writing. Natural differences in icing shade, lettering, spacing, shape, placement, and decorative detail can occur. Exact color matching across screens, print materials, and edible icing cannot be guaranteed. Minor variations that do not materially depart from the agreed specifications are not defects.

2. Confirming the order
Before payment, customers should verify the order summary: quantity, size or assortment, theme, color palette, names, spelling, event date, pickup/delivery arrangements, allergies or other special requests, and any specifically required design features. The written order confirmation controls over general inspiration images. If a digital proof is supplied, approval confirms the intended layout and text; finished handmade cookies may still vary modestly. A proof is not included unless expressly offered.

3. Payment, changes, and cancellation
Full payment confirms the order and reserves production capacity. Customer-requested cancellations after confirmation are non-refundable, except as required by law. Changes requested after confirmation are not guaranteed; approved changes may incur additional charges. If The Doodle Baker cannot fulfill the confirmed order, it will offer an appropriate remedy, which may include a refund.

4. Final sales, returns, and exchanges
All custom cookie sales are final. Because products are personalized and perishable, returns and exchanges are not accepted. Refunds are not provided solely because of subjective preferences or minor handmade variations within the agreed specifications.

5. Reporting an order concern
Please contact The Doodle Baker within 24 hours of receiving the order whenever possible, including the order number, a description, and clear photographs. This prompt reporting request helps the bakery investigate; it does not extinguish legal rights or remedies. The bakery will compare the concern with the confirmed order and available production records.  No particular remedy is guaranteed before review.

6. Pickup, delivery, and care
Customers should check the order promptly on receipt and follow supplied storage and transport instructions. After transfer to the customer, the bakery is not responsible for damage caused by the customer’s transport, mishandling, improper storage, direct sun, or heat. This provision does not exclude responsibility for issues present before transfer.

7. Allergens and food safety
Customers should disclose allergy-related questions before ordering. The bakery will provide required allergen and food labeling information. Customers should review labels before consumption. No claim of an allergen-free environment should be made unless it can be substantiated.

8. Consumer rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights or remedies available under applicable consumer protection laws. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

9. Acceptance
Customers acknowledge receipt of these terms before payment and confirm their documented order specifications by affirmative checkbox, email approval, or other recorded acceptance. The bakery should retain the accepted policy version, date, order summary, and any proof approval.
